Instructor Presence
I think it is imperative that we respond to the students request within 24 hours. I think timely turn around and quality feedback is essential to the success of the student progress. The instructor sets the tone for the course and if they are not present then the students may feel that they should not be.

True, the timeliness of feedback is crucial to the appearance of your presence in the course. You can also increase your presence in the course by sharing your personal experiences as they relate to the content.

Hi Terri
I try to post a response to my students with in the same day. Many of them as surprised I email back so quickly to questions or concerns.I do use experiences in a response to a question to show students that giving an example to help visualize it more.

I also provide very rapid feedback to my students (as much as possible) and the students really appreciate the quick response. They seem to feel more "connected" with a class that gives them really quick feedback.
