Are you asking for tips? I would suggest doing any tutorials for your CMS that are available. Create some development courses where you can experiment and try out all of the features. Ask others that are teaching classes like yours for ideas on what features they use. Google them....read the help files, use the Moodle Docs if you use moodle to help you through difficult features.

A lot of schools also offer Trainings and you can also use their Training Material tips. I also gained a lot of tips from my Trainer when I started training online.
