Old dog, new tricks...

What is the easiest way to ease older staff into the daily routine of a modern Motorsports dealership's tech heavy day to day operations?

Theodore,
Find something they like....then add to the task. A comfort zone is a must. You can also create some videos to help!

I agree that with an older learner one must find a comfort zone to begin with, or you will have a worker in a panic mode who becomes paralyzed with fear. I would begin with a "How to Manual"which is easy to follow with simple numerical steps of what to do in what order. The manual would be accompanied with a video for those visual learners. A short quiz provided after each step to reinforce the process, so that the individual is utilizing many senses to comprehend the process. When they are comfortable with the instructions, have them create a customized a protocol which can be used to go through the steps.

Present the process in a calm, nurturing, understanble manner to divert panic in a new situation.

Rosalyn,
Excellent plan! Being calm and understanding that we have all started something at some point in time that our panic level went up!

This teaching methodology would definitely appeal to those with at least two of the four learning styles, so it should resonate very well-and be permanent!
