About me

My name is Rosalyn Skinner; I have been a Professional Development Instructor for the past 7 years at a Career College in Wilmington DE. I find my job rewarding, interesting and challenging. Through the input of other instructors I have gained great suggestions, information and support from my peers. I have gained useful information on class managements, engaging students in the program, testing methods and I'm interested in following those who teach through humor and mentorship.

@adamgreen : Pretests are a great way of gauging a student's progress in a course and keep the student engaged in their learning progress. I can then taylor my lectures and individual meetings to each students need. It is also a way to show the student I am interested in their success and that I care.

 

It's nice to know also that other teachers are using similar methods in classroom nationally. I set high standards in my class for the students and this is a good way to help them along.

I just completed 104 and have been teaching for the past seven years. I wish I had taken this course when I first began teaching since I had no guidance initially and learned by doing.  There is so much valuable information, not just for the novice but for the seasoned instructor.
