Dominant Students

Making them "Observers" and challenging them to keep a quiet persona seems oddly doable.

Hi Stephen,
Even as an observer some dominant students will find a way to try to dominate. I try to keep the dominant student as busy as possible, this seems to work.

Hi Ms. Scales,

I'm currently dealing with a dominate student, and the way I'm dealing with her is by speaking with her about her behavior after class. Which seems to be working.

Hi Tiffany,
You have to have these firm conversations with dominant students, also I let them know that this type of behavior will not be tolerated on the job. I make it a point to let the dominant student know that I truly care about them.

I am dealing with a dominant student by always bringing the other students into "her" discussion instead of just answering her directly. This seems to curb her dominance and seems to give the other students some sense of control also, instead of simply being annoyed with her.

That's a good strategy. It's always good to harness peer pressure.
