intrinsic/ extrinsic

IT IS A GREAT REVIEW OF HOW TO MOTIVATE STUDENTS IN THE LEARNING ENVIORNMENT. I BELIEVE THAT BOTH ARE NEEDED TO BETTER ENHANCE THE STUDENTS ABILITY TO LEARN

Adina, can you elaborate a bit more on the specific items you feel are good for motivating students and how? Please also include any information on how you will be adjusting what you do within your own classroom based on this information. Also, just a quick update on email etiquette: using all capital letters is like shouting so best to use proper case when entering information on a post.

Yes,we need to use both motivators while teaching,it is the intrinsic that is the most important. Education for oneself, rather than for rewards will endure for a lifetime. To accomplish this help them achieve the skills that can be recognized by others, pats on the back, displaying their work, honor roll, jos etc. Once they have accomplished the extrinsic and have developed a love of accomplishment, it is more easily internalized.
