seating

I teach clinical and seating arrangements are not sometimes avaliable so, when I get a chance I like to arrange my seating chart in a circle.  I like to look in all students faces and see their expressions.

I teach cosmetology and I also like to arrange the seating in a circle. It helps start a group discussion and opens up students who are shy to respond when a question is directed to them.

Having the ability of varing seating arrangements is a good approach to encouraging interaction.  I also pair or group students up differently  from time to some.  It is interesting to observe how the level of their participation and results of their learning varies are the changes are institutued.
