testing in the classroom

True and false is the worst format in my opinion for adult learners. It does not challenge or allow students to use the knowledge they have recieved in the corse. I feel it also leads them to question the importance of such knowledge

I feel that true and false questions can be tricky and misleading at times depending on the way they are worded.

Our Dental Hygiene students take national boards at the end of their courses and there are no True/False on that test, but I still occasionally put a few in if I think it adds to the critical thinking aspect of the question just to keep them on their toes.

I am not fond of true/false either. I feel that students guess most of the time when taking this type of test. And I do not feel they take the test seriously. Also, I do not have appropriate feedback because of the guessing issue.

Yes, how the true false question is worded plays a big part on if the student will understand the question.

i agree with you tina the true false are missleading
