Policy Changes

Whats is a more effective way to communicate to the students any changes upon administration requirements. Im trying to be more understanding and make the students feel comfortable with concerns.

Michael,
I would do it through online as well as printed format and have a general discussion as to why the changes were made so the students have a complete understanding of the changes.

I have come to realize that consistency in policy is a key to motivating students. the moment changes are being made you loose them.

Yes, I find most students are resistant to change. When the changes make it tougher on them I.e. attendance requirements, they lose focus on the subject matter.

Dan,
This is a valid point in terms of student engagement. This is why it is important to make clear at the first class meeting what the expectations are and that they will be consistently enforced so the students will know from day one what they need to do for course success.
