One of my biggest takeaways from this module is that effective online teaching requires a continuous commitment to reflection, evaluation, and improvement. Course development does not end when the course is published or when students complete their final assignments. Instead, instructors must regularly examine whether their instructional strategies, learning activities, assessments, and course materials are effectively supporting student learning. I particularly appreciated the emphasis on "closing the loop" by using assessment and evaluation findings to make meaningful, evidence-based improvements.

One of my biggest takeaways from this module is that assessment should be viewed as an ongoing process that supports student learning rather than simply a mechanism for assigning grades. I particularly appreciated the distinction between formative and summative assessments and the importance of intentionally incorporating both into online instruction. Formative assessments provide opportunities to identify learning gaps, offer timely support, and adjust instructional strategies, while summative assessments help determine whether students have achieved the intended learning outcomes.

One of my biggest takeaways from this module is that effective online instructional delivery requires more than organizing content and making it available through a learning management system. It requires creating an environment where students understand expectations, feel connected to their learning community, communicate effectively, and progressively build their knowledge and skills. I particularly appreciated the emphasis on dynamic syllabi, online learning communities, effective communication, and instructional scaffolding because these elements collectively support a student-centered learning experience.

One of my biggest takeaways from this module is the importance of approaching online course development with a clear framework that prioritizes student learning rather than simply transferring instructional materials into a digital environment. I particularly appreciated the emphasis on beginning with the question, "What do I want students to know and do?" This reinforces the importance of aligning course objectives, instructional content, learning activities, and assessments to create an intentional and cohesive learning experience.

One of my biggest takeaways from this module is that critical thinking develops when students are given meaningful opportunities to examine different perspectives, question assumptions, collaborate with others, and apply their knowledge to real-world problems. I particularly appreciated the emphasis on problem-based learning and the idea that learning does not always require one correct answer. Sometimes, the most valuable learning occurs through the process of exploring a problem, evaluating evidence, and explaining the reasoning behind a conclusion.

One of my biggest takeaways from this module is that creating a student-centered learning environment requires intentional instructional design, consistent communication, and meaningful opportunities for students to apply what they are learning. I particularly appreciated the recommendation to begin with three to five active learning strategies rather than attempting to redesign an entire course at once. This approach allows instructors to experiment, assess effectiveness, and make improvements while maintaining alignment with course learning objectives.

One of my biggest takeaways from this module is that the barriers to active learning are not always related to technology or instructional design. Often, they stem from the expectations and attitudes of both instructors and students. Instructors may be hesitant to move away from traditional teaching methods, while students may interpret active learning as the instructor not teaching because they are accustomed to receiving information rather than actively constructing their own understanding.

One of my biggest takeaways from this module is that active learning requires a shift in how we approach teaching and learning. Rather than viewing students as passive recipients of information, we need to create opportunities for them to actively construct knowledge through discussion, reflection, collaboration, and problem-solving. I particularly appreciated the emphasis on instructors serving as facilitators or "guides on the side" while still providing the structure, communication, and support students need to succeed.

I learned a lot that I will be able to apply in the classroom.  This was an excellent course.

I learned that active learning encourages students to participate, think critically, and take responsability for their own learning
