I felt that this was a excellent practice. It can be helpful to run your written communications past someone with. This person can look for errors.

Making the Connection

The steps in the hierarchy process has shown me how effective and easy it is to accomplish. Especially when it comes to Mutual Interest.

What has worked for me in the past when working on multitask is to close my office door.

I feel modeling positive body Language is the way to go.

Communications

Would like to make a basic list of every item to cover. When talking on the phone. This way it could be given to each dept. And we could all be on the same page.

Community Programs

We have recently begun a professional development program at our facility. The staff enjoyed it despite the fact that it took place on a Sunday. We gave surveys to assess satisfaction and the scores were high. We also have career day at high schools, participate in health expos, and job fairs. Last year, we partook in a few blood drives and the turnout was not the best but it still helped a great cause. We also At least once a year we have a Blood Drive to help the shortage of blood in our community.Additionally, a food and clothing drive was held at our school to help a school in need. We would like to continue to develop professional development at our school and encourage club activity once the school grows.

Marketing

The student uniforms and Ids have the logo of the school. We also recently gave them lanyards to hang their ids with the name of the school. Additionally, the students received bags, pens and coffee mugs with the school name and logo. We also have buses and bench around Miami with the school information listed on them. We have been working actively to increase our name in the community. We are also looking to attend and participate in more health fairs. We had a Television commercial in the past and are exploring developing another one. Additionally, we also have contacted radio stations and exploring a commercial. We have a committee that works on marketing and additionally our student advisors keep in close contact with former students. The student advisor also inform alumni of new programs being offered. The material I have learned will be shared with both the committee and the advisors. The internet has become a wonderful tool between our facebook page and our school website which is frequently updated.

Reaching out to the Community

As mentioned in my previous post, we have strong ties to the community. We currently attend and partake in job fairs and presentations at high school. We have opened a facebook page and that has opened several doors for us. We have a plan set in motion and we have ensured that it is carried through. Consistency is key in our company. We have a PR chair and she is responsible for managing the marketing and community events. Additionally, we have a team that works together to do the job fair or the talks at the high schools. Furthermore, we are getting more involved in outreach programs at hopsitals.

Publicity

Discussions (Week/Topic 1): What publicity and public relations efforts does your school already have in place? What is working and what is not? What changes do you think you can make to improve your results? I think that building strong relationships is essential. Every member is crucial and important in building the marketing efforts. We currently have strong relationships amongst the staff and within the community. We work closely with South Florida Workforce and Vocational Rehabilitation. We attend and participate in job fairs and health forums. We also work with local high schools with job fairs and career expos. Outreach programs, such as the above mentioned, have been crucial to our growth and success. Internally, we have meetings and distribute surveys to the staff and the students to generate ideas. Some of our outreach programs were not successful, with a low turnout rate. However, we believe that with extra promotions and publicity we will achieve more turnouts in the future.

Our School Community Programs

We have done several community events being as follows: School expos, festival events offering free health screenings with our students. Weekly workforce presentations, and High School presentation. Our students, grads, and alumni have benefited from our local business community. Social events, flyers, surveys, interships and externship. I would like to put in place video tapes of our school to local organizations. And continue the ongoing of our surveys. With our staff, students, grads, and alumni. This process has helped us with enrollments.

Marketing Resources

We continue to have banners, advertisement in public transportation and bill boards. Recently we have contacted our local TV Channels and will be meeting with them soon. As well as other community network.This we know will work effectively for us. Yes, we have an active board and an advisory committee set up.The Alumni students are reached out by our staff members and are being up dated at all times. I will share what I have learned in these modules with our board members. This way we could come up with different ideas to benefit our school. The internet is a must, it is low cost and works wonders.

Making are calling into the Community

We are joining organizations and have also volunteer to give talks on careers, training, and more. Our public relations is one of our strongest methods. We are building relationships within our community network. We have our administrative assistant to implement things. Your strategies are simple and straight forward. As a result of what i have learned so far a checklist is being created. By doing this are calling into the Community will be successful.

Publicity and Public efforts already in place

We have developed a formal relationship as a provider with Government Agencies,workforce,and vocational rehabilitation centers. We participate with Community Events. Have done high school and Training Centers expo booth presentations as well as reaching out to prospective students on Career Day events. What is working for us now besides the outreach with different organizations is our "Referral Awards Program" Which allows our students to earn money. What did not work well was our Blood Drive event last year. We are going to join our local Chamber of Commerce for member support. To help promote our School.

Programs in Place in the Community

At the present time we have Staff Development, which has made us aware of how to use this sessions to further advertise our college. We also participate in Public High School Career Day, which is one of the primary source to recruit high school graduates. At least once a year we have a Blood Drive to help the shortage of blood in our community. It is a good idea to implement Articulation Agreement with a college that offers BSN in order to get our credits recognize.

Reaching students and prospects

At the present time we have banners, we offer giveaway items with our log, we advertise in public transportation buses and billboards we have a website, and we are planning TV and radio adversiting and banners to adversite the school inside the baseball and football stadiums. We have a board and an advisory committee that help us in getting the message out to the community and prospect students. We have Student Ambassadors and delegates that help whenever we need a speaker. The internet plays a wonderful role in our publicity and public relations efforts since we receive a lot of calls thanks to our webpage in the internet.

Getting the information out to the community

We use similar information that was presented in this module. Like: Honors to companies that support our school and our students, set booth at local business expos that have activities directly related to our profession. We participate in career awareness day sponsored by Public school in our area. Meet with principals and some faculty of our local schools and advertise in their year book. We have an Advisoory board that is made up of community leaders. We promote the use of the ID and our uniforms have the school logo and theme and we also give away items like pens, pencils, coffee mug, etc. The school director and her staff are responsible for carrying out information to the community. One things that we are planning is to have a section on our website to inform and update students and the community in general of what is going on in our school.

We distribute surveys and receive input from students, faculty and other members of our community which we have good relationship and they are always ready to cooperate with us and generate ideas that help us carry out publicity.
