It is importnant for students to be aware of the extra assistace. Students need to be aware and attend sessions such as orientation. It is also helpful to be aware of services such as academic assistance, housing career services, and learning resource centers. Having students take advantage of services can help a studet tremendously.

Reading and understanding the school's catalog is a vital part of the college experience. The catalog houses information about the college. It explains the policies, tuition and fees, enrollment dates, courses and any other item that pertains the college. It is a students responsibility to read the catalog and to use it as a reference guide.

I believe that staying organized can help you in your personal and professional life. I always like to keep binders or manila folders that contain any useful information that I might want to go back and look at. I have printed out the pages from this training and then can leave it at my desk. I will be able to go back to the binder whenever I want to double check any questions I might have.

As much as I like to know everything myself, it is so important to ask the right questions if you are unsure of information. Not just in a new job, but in school, in your personal life,and when working with a student. I do like to research materials when I have a question, but I like the fact that everyone is so open and understanding when a new agent has questions. A lot of the decisions that we make have a big impact on the student and the school so its important to make the right one. So,if you have a question, ASK IT!

(7) Refrain from making exagerated statements concerning job or employment opportunities. - One of the most common questions I get while showing prospective students and families around has to do with job placement following graduation. I'm grateful we have disclosure forms through our career services department so students and parents can see published statistics!It's tempting to want to brag, but I always direct families to the disclosure brochures.
