Learning about your school from the Catalog

From reading our catalog I learned many facts that I did not know previously. Building specifics may not seem important, but different rules concerning refunds definitely was something I find useful! Since I am not in the department that deals with enrollment agreements, I do not always work with those numbers on a regular basis, but I know it is still important I know them.

the state licensing board licenses non-public postsecondary institutions. Licensing is required. Accreditation is voluntary. which was unknown to myself. Its going to be very important to continue to stay updated with the state and mandatory continous education training. In order to be state compliant.

Admissions meetings tend to concentrate on how to be an 'effective" admissions rep. Main ideals are: dealing with student objections, institution tours, presenting information about your institution.

Accreditation Standards and Procedures

This module was very helpful and informative in regards to the accreditation standards and what my role and responsibilities are as an Admissions Representative. I learned that an Admissions Representative must continously train as per accreditation regulation and that it is voluntary for institutions to obtain accrediatation standards. Being accredited allows for Title 4 Funding to be available.

The resource notebook can be very helpful for people that do not work within the admissions department on a reguarl basis. Also, being able to acquire information about advertising can help provide better understanding for what the school is doing in terms of recruitment and attracting prospects.

Since our institution may use the services of many number of lead generation companies. This is helpful information for you to know. There is a variety of technology in use. Knowing where how they came about will allow u to approach they lead in a tactful fashion.

What do I know about my institution?

This module what was very interesting because it illustrated the importance of knowing your institution in order to deliver compliance and flawless customer service. Knowing your rules, regulations, program overviews and course requirements is key to the success of your institution.

I understand that accuracy of any and all enrollment paperwork is imperative. Transparency in every aspect of the prospective student's experience is necessary. Any and all questions must be thoroughly answered and every document from enrollemnt agreement to financial aid options must be disclosed in a professional manner. Compliance once again needs to be present at all times.

I think the Introduction was very helpful because it outlines all the material that will be covered in this training in regards to Compliance, Regulations and the responsibility that we as admissions representatives have to look out for the best interest of our prospective students.
