Retention

THIS WAS A GOOD COURSE. I ALREADY PRACTICE MOST OF WHAT WAS DISCUSSED BUT IT SEEM TO FINE TUNE ME AS AN INSTRUCTOR. I WILL PUT THESE IDEAS INTO PRACTICE. THANKS

I got some good pointers from the course especially in organizing the first week of the class and its relavance to retention and eventually program outcomes

I got alot out of this course and can use and using this now

I found this course most informative and it gave me a new perspective on how to approach students and be more proactive in assisting them with academic roadblocks

I am using some of the orientation ideas that I learned and discussing them at the meetings that I have this week. During orientation, I would like the teachers to discuss what they teach and let the students know that they are resources and mentors for them. I would like them to pass out packets with a list of supplies that the students need on the first page. We have a Big Sister Program for the Dental Assistants. The seniors help the freshman with any questions that they have. They give them tips on organizing and studying every other Firday from 3:15-3:30. I would like to implement the Big Sister Program for each porgram that we offer.

This course helped put the issue of retention in perspective for me. the ideas that have been disscussed have helped me to come to the relization that our retention efforts are good but could definetly be better. the retention issue is important to the institution and to the future students that decide to come to our school.

This course offerd multiple helpful best practices that i will use in my shool. the act of retention in a large campus setting is important to everyone involved. without care for the students we have, we wont get new students without this. we must retain the new as well as attending students to be successful.
