I learned and/or have been refreshed on several things concerning engaging online learners that include me designing my courses from the student’s perspective and continually evaluating how clear and accessible my courses are. With the aforementioned in mind and taking the things, I already have positive gains on that include but are not limited to chunking, providing clear directions and effective feedback, I can always improve on those skills in the following manner:

·      providing directions in multiple formats and locations, including written instructions, checklists, examples, screenshots, videos, weekly modules, assignment pages, and announcements.

·      continually offering timely and effective feedback while using rubrics, models, and prepared feedback statements to improve efficiency and address recurring student needs.

·      using student feedback, course performance, and collaboration with colleagues or instructional support when needed to continuously improve my online courses and make them clear, consistent, accessible, and easy for students to navigate independently.

This module taught me that effective online teaching requires intentional communication, flexibility, and continuous reflection to ensure students have the guidance and support they need to succeed.
