Creating an Online Community

Due to COVID-19, creating an online community among the students in my courses has become crucial. This course, Online Language: Communicating with Students, has provided me with the guidelines I need to establish and maintain successful communication among my students. Three types of communication were pointed out which were instructor to student, student to instructor, and student to student. Establishing clear guiedlines for communicating with one another in the course should be outlined and made readily available in the syllabus. The instructor should be consisten in feedback and watch the tone of all communication with the student. Know when to use private communication, social postings, and communication with the entire class. Rubrics are also a necessary means to successful communication online and should focus on the outcomes sought in the assignment/course.
