Teaching the Adult Student

I plan to focus more on greeting the student at the door and show a more caring atmosphere as an Instructor

Since Covid, Instructors were sent home to teach Virtual classes. Starting out, the in seat Instructors did not like the Virtual teaching method, but as we improved and became accustomed to a new way of teaching we started to enjoy the perks of teaching from home. If it is a clinical class that required hands on instruction, of course you want to be in the class room setting with your students, but if its a class that can be taught Virtual, with no hands on skills to perform, why wouldn't you be allowed to go Virtual? It is better for the student and for the Instructor. Virtual keeps you safe in the comforts of your home, you do not have to purchase gas and maitenance on your vehicle as much, plus its just more convenient. But to teach Virtual, the Instructor must have a good group of students in that course to be effective. Some students take the Virtual setting for granted and misuse it, but then they are others who appreciate being at home and they take full advantage of the opportunity to learn from home. I thik students should be required to have a GPA of at least 3.0 to be a Virtual student!
