RT 103

I have a unique perspective because I am both an Instructor and a Graduate Employment Specialist. I get to be a part of the student's school experience from the first day of class, till their last, and then help them find a rewarding job within the career of their choice that they have worked so hard to join!

One aspect that had not knowm much about, is the admissions process. This course really brought into perspective for me how important a longer, more detailed enrollment process is to a student's ultimate success. I really had no idea how vital the relationship between the Admissions Representative and the student could be.

Nice course! Know most of the subject matter, but a good refresher for me. grest program for new admissions and faculty members to learn.

I can echo this, with being Student Services Coordinator and a Gen Ed Instructor in my school.  I really can see the need to address retention right from the beginning with Admissions ensuring the right fit through to Career Placement working from day one with the students.

Similar to Juliana, I too am an instructor but I am also a doctoral student.  I know what it's like to sit in a course and try to stay focused, or feel as though I'm one in a thousand and my input doesn't really matter.  The personal touches to edcucation are crucial.  Every student comes to us with different experiences and learning styles.  Being an instructor means I have to invest in each of those students.  Retention is crucial for the success of the school as well as sucess of our community.
