68% of Inquiries Won't Show - Now What?

So it's come to the point that the job of admissions must evolve to stay relevant. No longer do students need or desire a phone call to schedule an appointment.  They're not showing up anyway.  In fact....68% of qualified inquiries won't even show up at your campus.  Today's student can get all the info they need from the Internet.  So now what?

Now, the Admissions representative needs to be cretive with ways to reach out to a more educated and technically knowledgeable consumer.  Reaching consumers where they "live".  Techniques like texting inquiries, emailing, using facebook, etc. can all prove to be beneficial tools in this new age of technology.

@stimmons123 :Great points!  So now I ask...what is the goal of getting in touch with them?

Create a high value in showing them your campus and high value on a tour..it's nothing like seeing something for your own eyes

@jcolon :This is true for some...but I also know that some people out there buy things without actually seeing it (think about online shopping for example).  What do we do with the people that just want information that are shopping around and aren't ready to show up on campus?
