Making learnings fun for retension

I always have a breakdown of the events of the day with my class,at the end of the day we talk about the good the bad and the ugly. Good being things they did very well and how that would relate to the industry. Bad would be a time when the students are allowed to explain any mistakes that they may have made while performing the tasks that were taught, I explain that we can't possibly make all the mistakes by ourselves so if we can learn from other peoples mistakes so that we don't make them we all win, in the industry we all talk when something goes wrong why not while we are learning. They realize that they are not going to be graded for admitting a fault because it is going to help everyone in the class. The the ugly is maybe a broken tool or training aid, I explain how we can avoid this in the future, and reemphasize the proper usage. The students seem to really enjoy this as it helps all of them and the learning becomes more fun. Real world.

That is a great way of to give positive feedback and encouragement to the students.  I am a firm believer in encourging students to stay positive, not be too hard on themselves and learn from their mistakes.
