My school has presented us with active learning strategies repeatedly at our in-services. I do think that theories don't have much meaning until they are applied. Since I teach accounting, I have to introduce the theory. In my F2F classes, I then go immediately into examples. First, we demonstrate an example as a class, and then the students break into groups and work on a second application. I find the group based learning to be very beneficial. I provide my online students with video demonstrations, but I need to find ways to implement the group based learning into my online classes.

I like the idea of writing reflections, and I would like to implement these in my online courses. Many of my students have limited technology tools and skills, which prevent me from implementing some of the other things mentioned in this course.

This course has given me some things to think about, and some tools that I need to investigate further.
