I learned that taking an online course is a great way to understand your student's perspective when being an online instructore. It is essential that the syllabus has hyperlinks and materials linked in one location for easy access. The more we can provide assistance and materials and make it easy to find, the better we can assist students in an online course.

It is important to be selective when providing resources to students. If it is not certain that the resource is needed for the required learning outcome, do not provide it to the student "just in case".
Great idea for the syllabus to have hyperlinks to outside resources.
Saving links and digital materials saves time for other supports for class.
The repository is a lifesaver. However, you still need to have resources stored and organized.
Professional development is not a poor use of time; it is a workload management strategy. When I learn my weaknesses in training, I learn what to resolve in order to do my work better.

Should have scheduled revisions at the end of each term to ensure the class is correct and any areas of improvement. Getting feedback from the students on what went well and where changes could be made.
Course development is not a one time event. Getting feedback from a variety of audiences helps save time and frustration as the course revision process takes place. Keeping copies of the course content will help when updating course material and making revisions to the course.
Provide assessments early and often.
In this module, I gained insight on formative and summative evaluations and how I can implement it to the evaluations to help make the revisions accordingly.
I also learnt about the ADDIE Model which includes Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation.
I learned about the different types of course revisions and the typical time frame associated with each.
I am excited to learn more about this subject.
I did not learn anything new but like the idea of getting students' feedback on course facilitation and assignments more than once during the term. I teach 5-week terms, so the term moves quickly, but I think I could include a formative evaluation at about mid-term.
Course evaluations are very useful for the evolution of any specific course. Course revisions should be ongoing for as long as the course is offered and can even produce different versions of the course that can be more suitable in different situations. A class with a low number of students may benefit from a certain version of the course that was developed and tested on smaller class sizes. There may even be a version of the course that is more suitable for larger class sizes or in the event of Holiday or Weather related schedule interruptions. Formative evaluations give the instructor the opportunity to make midcourse revisions and test outcomes more quickly. These are useful for instructors as course corrections can be made immediately to avoid any negative outcomes. Summative evaluations give the instructor time to consider more involved changes that can possibly affect the curriculum of the teaching tools.
Posting information form previous courses creates a baseline for a subject. If that information has changed ,developed, the instructor can update the course and not need to start over again
