My key takeaway from this lesson is that how we deliver our suggestions greatly influences how they are received. Thoughtful word choice is essential, as the same message can lead to very different responses depending on how it is framed. Feedback should be constructive and supportive. Asking permission before offering feedback can help students feel more prepared and less defensive. Additionally, using “why” in questions can unintentionally put students on the defensive, making them feel the need to justify themselves.
