This module discussed the importance of critical thinking and ways the teacher can foster critical thinking within students.  Teachers can create a safe environment where students can ask questions and answer questions.  It is important for teachers to support and encourage when students ask, "Why?"  Another way to support critical thinking is for teachers to create FIRE questions.  These include, factual thinking, insightful thinking, rational questions, and evaluative questions that help to increase student exploration and discovery.  I intend to create FIRE questions to help my students think critically on the content in the classroom.
