Late Starts

It is critical to provide as much attention to those students who did not start on time to those individuals who are there on the first day.

Absolutely! Late starting students provide an opportunity to step up and make sure they are well prepared to succeed!
Extra attention at this time can make all the difference in feeling accepted and part of the class.

It is very important to plan a follow up Orientation for those who have missed the Orientation. This give them the chance to know about the rules and regulations of the school It also helps them to know the expectations of the school as atudent.

Not having a good orientation can be make the student drop from the school.

Follow up Orientation are very important.

late start should have individual as well as group orientation.

I agree; however, the initial "bond" made through orientation and being in class the frist day is harf to re-connect with late starts.

terri,

Late starts are a challenge for sure. They are behind and have missed a great deal of opportunity to get to know their classmates, as you point out.
