Students are external customers

when treating people with kindness you will usually be given returned kindness, and others will be told of helpfullness.

I agree. I believe that the students that are greeted and treated with kindness will be more willing to work hard and show respect for the faculty. It all goes along with the modeling and mentoring idea. If we model a positive experience, the student will have one.

Absolutely! Kindness is contagious for sure. In addition, kindness is visible transforming. When you interact with an external customer – you notice the initial guard going up. Then when you offer kindness with a smile, you receive a smile in return and the guard goes down.

The external customer is relieved to build a relationship with a person that focuses on assisting. In turn, the external customer shares their positive experience with others.
