This whole module so far has really helped me to reconsider how I communicate with students, and might even help me with my conversations outside of work as well. I've often felt like I was preaching, listening, and preaching again. I can be a lot better at guiding conversations and spending more time listening and understanding others' needs.

I've learned from this module the importance of motivational Interviewing and focusing on the stages of change to help get the best results, I've also learned that eliciting change talk is a vital part for coaches to help individuals identify their motivation and readiness for change.

Clients telegraph their current state of change and this can inform how we work with them.

Strengthening commitment helps learners plan their next steps.

Embracing commitment language strongly suggests a readiness to take action in MI.
