This whole module so far has really helped me to reconsider how I communicate with students, and might even help me with my conversations outside of work as well. I've often felt like I was preaching, listening, and preaching again. I can be a lot better at guiding conversations and spending more time listening and understanding others' needs.

I play a crucial role in guiding graduates from school to job-readiness, and the most effective way to do that is to allow the student to figure out the best solution for them, and act as a conversational outlet for their problem-solving.

I've seen these strategies work firsthand, and it seems very compatible with how my brain operates in general. I'm good at identifying what I believe would be a generally correct answer, I just have to work backwards from that, and ask a question that gets the student to cover the substance of that answer from their own perspective.

I've been spending too much time trying to create the solutions for the students myself, rather than guiding the student to the realization that they already know how to solve their problems.
