I understand that there are multiple ways students can use AI. I want my students to understand concepts and be able to complete job specific tasks. Using AI can help in some instances, like allowing them to create study notes from a lecture. Students who have academic challenges could also use AI to "write" grammatically correct responses.
I have discovered there are many different types of AI chats bots each with there own capabilities. I also found out about deepfakes where someone's voice or appearance can be digitally altered to mimic someone else. (Scary) We also need to be mindful of what personal information we provide to AI chats bots.
I had not considered how much bias is built into many algorithms, I found that pretty astounding.
I have used AI to help formulate quizzes, which I then edit. It's been a big time saver for me.
I have some experience with AI. The speed with which AI technology is entering the workplace is impressive. I learned some more about the types of chatbot, and how to craft effective prompts.
I have learned that AI is transforming the employment landscape and companies are embracing AI to cut costs and boost revenues.
I have never given to much thought to the potential inaccuracy of AI due to the biases of the algorithms. I think this is a very important point that needs to be explained to students; meaning, you get a good general basis of an idea from AI but it is not always perfectly correct. You need to follow up any true research by using reputable sources and fact checking.
I have learned how to use AI effectively for my job as an instructor. I also learned about the correct prompts and the information I need to include for a more exact response. It is good to see that the ethics are being considered as well.
I hadn't given adequate consideration to how to properly frame queries
I have learned that there are several different types of AI chatbots. I have learned that the more information you provide when seeking a response or assistance from chatbot, the more information you will receive. I have learned that there is a thing called Deepfakes in which voice and appearance can be modified to replace that of someone else, so be very careful about the information you provide online.
