Placement services should start before the students start. Since our schools have placement standards to follow, it's important to build that relationship early with the student to ensure trust. When do you start meeting with the students?
Another great comment and suggestion. We think placement services and success should be as prominent on a school website as information about the school and its programs. We also feel that the placement people should be involved in the entire admissions process. Applicants mostly want to know about the jobs they will get. Not the A & P Course! Once the student enrolls s/he should be given required placement assignments to complete through training. Everyone on staff needs to have a placement state of mind! And we did mention the value of Alumni Associations. Easy to set up with lots of benefits to the school. And of course the alumni. Thanks, Susan
Every single moment with the students is very important. And every chance we get to meet with the students it is relevant for the success of placement and placing the student. Placement should meet with the students right away!

We also feel that career services and placement departments should play an important part in the life of every student. It takes a while to learn search skills and build a work ethic to be successful. It's not something to be learned in one class or session. That's why we suggest having 10 or more projects for a student to complete while taking other courses. Thanks, Susan
