Confidentiality

Why does 504/ADA not find it proper to keep confidentiallity of disabled applicants in the application process?

It is the students right to tell someone about there disability in confidence, but to share it with someone that might use it against them instead of helping them, puts the student in a position to fail

Clinton,
Absolutely. It also makes for a terrific discrimination law suit against the institution!

It's also a "trust' issue. The student must trust the instructor to keep his/her situation confidential. I believe in the instructor to be professional and not to fail the student and work with the student to give him/her the confidence that he/she needs.

In order to remain fair in the application process without bias or discrimination this information should not be included. Thus, confidentiality must be maintained!
