Separation of duties

In our company we have many departments that support our schools. The processing of financial aid is not handled at the school level, the processing is taken care of in our home office. in our home office we have separate departments that are assigned various duties. We have a financial aid office,a business office, accounting department and an operations department that all serve to handle student financial aid and tuition accounts.

Toni,

Having financial aid handled through the home office for multiple schools offers a consistency that cannot be achieved on separate campuses.

We do as well. While it's great for everyone to understand the functions we all share. Consistency and compliance anre more important and by having each department focus on specifics it keeps these areas in order.

We also have a similar set up. Although, we do have a financial aid officers on our branch campus. They serve mores as the liaison and resource for the students to communicate to our main campus and home office. This helps to keep consistency and also the ability to be there more for the enrolled students.

Lauren ,

Many schools have a financial aid department that processes paperwork and insures that students understand the loan process. It is important that the admissions and financial aid department maintain a clear separation of duties while being in physical proximity to each other.
