WBL Maximizes Business Engagement | Origin: HQ111

This is a general discussion for the following learning topic:

Implementing High-Quality Work-Based Learning --> WBL Maximizes Business Engagement

Post what you've learned about this topic and how you intend to apply it. Feel free to post questions and comments too.

It is important to treat businesses that support WBL program as a true partnership and not just expect them to allow students into their business without inviting them to schools. This way stundets know what to expect from the businessa and learn a broader range of skills and the business is able to get to know students and staff.

I will continue to develop an already robust community partnership with local businesses and professionals through community service clubs such as Rotary, the Chamber of Commerce, and industry associations.

I think it is important to be able to share with businesses how WBL can also benefit them and the students involved.  Especially in fields where it might be more difficult to recruit employees.

Preparing an elevator pitch is an important way to prepare for meetings with business and industry professionals, as it goes a long way toward showing the mutual benefits of such an arrangement.

To reach out to the school community and request more visitation time for the students enrolled in the CTE programs.
