I certainly got a wealth of ideas about employment skills and placement services.

I enjoyed learning about how the classroom connects to job placement, and how faculty serve as a student's first exposure into their profession.

Student services is a very important department has they help with student success.

Internship and Co-op Programs:

Collaborate with industry partners to offer internship and co-op programs that provide students with hands-on experience, professional mentorship, and exposure to real-world IT projects.
Assist students in identifying and applying for internship opportunities that align with their interests and career goals.

Academic Advising:

Provide academic advisors specialized in IT programs to help students plan their course schedules, choose elective courses, and track progress toward degree completion.
Offer personalized guidance on academic goals, career pathways, and opportunities for research or internships.

Feedback and Continuous Improvement:

Solicit feedback from students through surveys, focus groups, and advisory committees to assess the effectiveness of student services and identify areas for improvement.
Use data-driven decision-making to evaluate the impact of student services initiatives and make adjustments based on student needs and feedback.

Student services are a high-priority element of student success and long-term outcomes, and the student services team plays an integral role in student and school development.
The good results of these initiatives can be used to improve the image of the institution among future students.

Student services and carreer services are key in a higher education institution. You have to see your student in a holistic way. Your institution is only as good as your student outcomes. High Satisfaction rates and high employment rates. This is what quality looks like. The other KPI are only processes KPI that don´t guarantee student success.

Student services can be instrumental in giving the confidence and motivation for students to succeed and graduate.

A well organized student services program not only educates the student on what their future will look like, but helps the institution to keep a student from dropping out.

This was really helpful material in terms of the importance of creating an integrated social and academic environment and providing a range of student services that encourage student retention and success.

These plans should reflect an understanding of the evolving needs and expectations of students, as well as the broader educational landscape. Additionally, student services planning often involves assessing the effectiveness of existing services, identifying areas for improvement, and ensuring that services align with the institution's mission and values. By addressing these aspects in their five-year plan, educational institutions can create a more inclusive, supportive, and engaging environment for their students, ultimately contributing to their success and well-being.

Student services is essential for students and the schools success.

The importance of every department and the impact they have on the student's success

Our company does not conduct exit interviews.  The program is self-paced and all online, so it is easy for people to silently drop out.  We need to change this in order to better serve our students.  In addition, we do not have a graduation. Our students finish at different times, but we could do something once a semester that would recognize accomplishments.

Student services are a very important department as they help in the retention and student success.

This Section is really important, specially with orientation they know what they are getting into before they start school.

I thing student services planning is great.  I has the student's past, present, and future in consideration when making any future changes and when developing plans to help students become successful at the start, during, and after any program.

We are adding a required "Introduction to Healthcare" course in the first term. There were many parts of this module that will be included, such as a thorough description of the possible jobs available upon completion of the program.

I like this five year plan idea for students. When I was a Progam Director, I had students tell me where they saw themselves working. I wanted their ideal job. Over the next two years, I spent time in lecture describing the pros and cons of each of the different types of hospitals. They woul then start focusing on everything from the types of equipment theyd need to learn more about, how indepth they'd need to understand the electronics, and any other skills that were a benefit to that environment.

Large hospital, small hospital, in house service department, outsourced service department, federal hospital, state hospital, DoD hospital, private insurance hospital, etc. There is more to being successful than focusing on one factor.

The exit interview is good and will help in the process of seeking employment, and encouraging success.

Great information! More interviews and activities will strenghthen the students commitment in the field.
