I agree with you. I have shared lately that I have decided that I will not call "grading", "grading" anymore. I will call it evaluating. Grading doesn't really push students to react to feedback. Evaluation with constructive feedback really pushes students to react to the feedback. This aligns more with the workplace than grading!

This is true and it should be a holistic approach. This will allow the instructor to be proactive with guiding a student and gaining the necessary feedback to make the next step in the learning process.
