Practice

Putting technology into practice and repeating its uses during tasks makes it familiar. When a student reaches that point it builds confidence with new technologies.

Mary Lou,

I fully agree, and building confidence in our students is half the battle.

Wishing you continued success in the classroom.

Theresa Schmitt

Practice is essential; a theoretical knowledge of technology and comprehension of it is just the "skeleton" to a successful application of new technologies. An effective application requires students to whom this technology is targeted to "flesh it out" by actively using it to achieve learning objectives. An interesting question is how a given technology was applied to reach the desired results.

Practice is definitely key. I especially encourage the students to use their newly acquired skills in technology outside the classroom as well as in the classroom. They then turn their practicing into intuitive thinking.
