Neidra, Thank you for sharing! Google is just an amazing resource- I rely on it heavily for both work and personal use. Best, Theresa Schmitt
Neidra, The course packs that come from major publishers are a fantastic resource. They have really come along way this past decade! Many now include quizzes in addition to PowerPoints that can be modified and some even include interactive multimedia with audio and video files that support the curriculum. Thank you for sharing! Michele, I agree. A separate account is necessary when connecting with students. Best, Theresa Schmitt

Jim, Thank you for sharing, Jim. Group assignments are a fantastic way to approach a class such as Introduction to Computers. Having taught the class myself, I found students possessed a wide range of knowledge and skills. Creating teams and pairing more advanced learners with those who may be new to using computers in the classroom and a heavy dose of in-class sharing and discussion is a great approach! Best, Wishing you continued success in the classroom. Theresa Schmitt
Carlos, Engrade is a fantastic, relatively new tool available to educators- I am so glad you brought it up with the group! Engrade is well worth checking out when adopting a new platform for managing the modern classroom and I have faith it will be around for some time given the pace the company has grown and the strong financial backers behind the company. Jeff, Scheduling updates is brilliant! Aside from general reminders about exams and projects, relevant links, and little tidbits of knowledge, using Twitter to update students regarding class scheduling changes is timely and appreciated by the student who may need to adjust his or her work/personal schedule. I can see Student Services departments making good use of Twitter as a communication tool as well. Best, Theresa Schmitt

Holly, Fantastic example of how Twitter can be a viable resource and how we as educators can contribute while not in the classroom. Best, Theresa Schmitt
Merrill, I agree completely! We do not want to overwhelm ourselves or our students with technology. It is easy to move off task when trying to incorporate too many software apps or eLearning tools at once. Knowing our audience and their past learning experience is always key when incorporating anything high-tech in the classroom. Best, Theresa Schmitt
