Interpersonal skills are a high importance when it comes to being an instructor and in the work field. Students want organization but also want to know that the instructor cares for them in a way that they want then to succeed. 

Understanding emotional intelligence and how to control feelings in the classroom is a challenge. The diverse expectations of the students puts demands on instructors that are often difficult to deal with. As a new instructor I find I am not prepared on how to deal with challenging students and I hope to get some clarification taking some courses. 

Emotional intelligence allows individuals to understand their reactions before making a decision that may jeopardize one's role as an instructor.

Emotional intelligence is important. I think that it's important to apply empathy in order to meet students where they are. 

Emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills play a vital role in an instructor's effectiveness. Instructors with high EQ and well-developed interpersonal skills can create a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment. This, in turn, fosters deeper student engagement, motivation, and academic success. Build trust and rapport with students, promoting open communication and a sense of safety. Empathize with students' challenges and concerns, providing tailored support and guidance. Manage classroom dynamics, conflicts, and emotions in a constructive manner. Adapt their teaching style to meet the diverse needs and learning preferences of their students. Provide constructive feedback that encourages growth, rather than criticism.

Interpersonal skills are so important when interacting with others, it builds rapport in relationships which reflects on one's character. This soft skill involves gaining students trust, managing classroom dynamics, engaging students, and creating a positive collaborative productive environment. 

I have learned that time management is important to improve the quality of work, helps complete tasks and activities without feeling stressed and pressured, and improves personal growth.

Interpersonal skills, or emotional intelligence (EQ), play a significant role in an instructor's effectiveness. These skills involve understanding and managing one's emotions, as well as recognizing and responding to the emotions of others, which directly impacts how an instructor interacts with students, colleagues, and the broader school community. Here’s why interpersonal skills are critical for effective teaching. An instructor with strong interpersonal skills can cultivate a positive, productive, and inclusive learning environment that enhances both student outcomes and overall teaching satisfaction.

Interpersonal skills are a vital component of effective ELT instruction. By building rapport, communicating effectively, managing classroom dynamics, providing personalized support, and inspiring students, teachers can create a positive and productive learning environment that fosters language acquisition.
