Encouraging self-autonomy and letting adult learners apply real world experiences helps them better grasp new lessons.
It's important to incorporate strategies to encourage autonomy in adult education.
Psychological safety is essential because adults bring prior experiences, identities, and vulnerabilities into the learning space.
Autonomy is really important for adult learners, it helps motivate them and keep them engaged in their learning.
Autonomy is vital in adult learning environments.
Currently, I have my students take turns being the "charge nurse" and making the daily assignments for their group. Later in the term, I give them the choice to choose their assignments and which nurse they want to work with. I'm not sure at this point how else I can encourage more autonomy with my students.
Autonomy is essential for classroom function in adult learning environments. This facilitates the proper social settings to motivate aged or experienced learners.
This course has given me new methods to increase autonomy for my adult students.
During this section of the course I've learned some new ideas how to increase the autonomy for adult student.
For example: allow students to write down some questions that could be used by instructor in real assessments, allow students to give feed back about instructional methods.
