Focus

What other activities can keep student focused in the class?

Hi Anthony,
It all depends on what you are teaching and how you approach your instructional delivery. Ice breaker activities to get the students introduced to each other, talking and getting settled into the course are good.
If you can come up with an activity that uses some of the basics of the course from the very beginning really helps to engage students. I use a basic exercise where the students try an activity and then I give them a some additional information and they work together. The results are 100 percent better than when they worked alone. This really helps with social development.
Throughout the course make sure you offer all types of instructional variety. This will help keep them focused on the content while enjoying the learning process.

Students expect participating in group activities. During classroom observations, students show attentiveness and give positive feedback. It is an enjoyable experience to witness and an educator.
