Objectives should be measurable and known before lesson

I have found that if the students know what is expected during the lesson they will work hard to provide what is asked. Since I move from room to room sometimes I get tied up in my first class and get to my second class on time but not any sooner and I have not written an objective on the board or the PowerPoint isn't up, the students will ask what is the objective for today.

That sounds like a problem. I share a room with the day instructor. We have an agreement that when she leaves, she writes on the board what I need for her to post before I arrive for the evening course and then I post before leaving at night what she needs for the next day up on the board before I leave.
Is there anything like that available for you?

I think it helps the students to focus better on the lesson if the know the objectives
