Being prepared for class

I engage a few students to help me prepare for my demonstration the following day. This helps me be prepared and gets the students interested in tomorrows work. After a few days of this I will have students volunteering at the beginning of class to help out.

That's a great idea that I use too. keep student involves...

I basically do the same thing. Involving the students for your demo has benefits on many levels. Not only does it help you to be prepared for the class, but it makes the students feel involved. I find that there is a lot of competition to be the student helper. Aother thing that I like to do to be well prepared for class is simply to get there early and outline the day on a white board.

Hi Josh:

Just flipping that around, having the student perform a teach back after you complete that demo might be a great way to reinforce what's being discussed.
