This module has some clearly defined methods to engage with and motivate the students. I am going to employ the early contact method using a video to greet the students prior to the course and provide them with direct contact information. Also, I will continue to provide efficient and effective feedback but prior to this I am going to initiate chunking the instructional information and providing it in multiple formats such as through video, written or just and audio recording if questions are raised by a student. The students want acknowledgment they want to know that you hear their emotion in their presence that you acknowledge their thoughts, and you acknowledge their concerns

Communication through text on any device can be percieved as something totally different than you expected according to tone. FERPA can be ignored because of online anonymity as well.  You just have to be so very careful.

We live in a day and age of everything is online. We need to be flexible but still hold standards.

I can create a trusting mutual respectful relationship with the student to help them feel confident and supported.

Showing feeling and emotion over email or text responses makes the educator feel real to the students and acknowledgement of their names  instead of using student to address the pupil is more effective than the alternative.

I have learned that online education is no longer a thing of the past! It has grown significantly since 2001! Leaners are super busy with their lives and availability is a key factor nowadays.  Giving students, especially adult students, the option for accessing learning gives more options for the institution and the learner when it comes to attendance and attrition.

I have learned quite a bit from this module so far! I always thought that in-person education far exceeded online education, but the students rank it as the same or even better.  I also had no idea that attrition loss resulted in so much financial decline when it comes to Cosmetology schools.  Creating a safe and engaging space keeps employees and students wanting to return and even finish the course!
