Doing my best every day to include all the students, no matter race, gender, or any other stereotypical attitudes will not only help them during their learning experiences but will also help me to grow as an individual as well.

I will use all these accommodations in my classroom to help the students with disabilities to succeed in my course.

I learned that mental disabilities can severely affect the student's performance in the classroom for very many reasons

This module taught me many different ways to make accommodations for people with learning disabilities.

I learned many ways in order to help students with disabilities. For instance use a microphone and don't turn your back when speaking to the class.

That college students must self-identify and show proof of their disability to get accomodations and they are not provided retroactively.

I learned that there a lot of different disabilities. They can range from physical, like vision or auditory problems to psychological, like depression. It is important to be able to identify the disability.

Instructors should respect all students, but for veterans with ptsd or tbi, it is even more important. Also, having veterans with network with other veterans can create a sense of belonging.

Making sure students, especially veterans with possible ptsd, know where student services and safe spaces for deescalating are located. Having these easy to go to can be the difference between veterans finishing or dropping from school.

TBI and PTSD are definitely different. It makes me think of hardware vs software malfunctions. I plan to keep my class calm and orderly to prevent triggers as well as checking in with students and giving support when needed.
