I have learned more about the specific learning disabilities and data behind learning disabilities. 33 percent of students with learning disabilities have an above average intelligence. We have to give all students a good opportunity to education. All students can succeed when give the accommodations needed.

People who have learning disabilities have equal rights to educate and opportunity. We just need to see what accommodation are needed to help the student advance in their educatriion.

I will take the time to meet with my students with learning disabilities to really get to know how they learn better and implement those practices into my teaching. I believe that will help all learners as well.

How have you accomodated ap bio students since the test is not one that can be modified?

How frustrating it must be for a student who is called on with a disability. I learned that I can come up with a special cue with the student with disabilities that they will be called on.

I learned that when you go to college they don't know you have a learning disability and you have to register/tell them so you can get accomadations. I also learned that a lot of jobs don't accomadate people with disabilities. I also learned that I cannot spell accomodation. :) as  I have tried 3x now

There are so many different kinds of disabilities and there is not a test to take to diagnose. It is through the cooperation of many people that a diagnosis is made

I learned that people with disabilities are most likely suffering with a reading issue and that it isn't that they are lazy but rather they cannot interpret the letters into words etc.

I will make sure that I start each day the same so any students with autism can feel comfortable and know the routine. I will also make sure that I use varying ways to display information and have a notetaker for them. I will make sure all my language is direct and not using sarcasm or sayings that would confuse them.

I have a better understanding of student's learning challenges and preferences. It showed me how important it is to create an inclusive classroom. I learned that flexible teaching methods, thoughtful accommodations, and thorough assessments can help students succeed. As a nurse educator and leader, I want to support inclusive teaching, use a range of learning activities, and encourage faculty to give every student a fair chance to show what they know and can do.
