What have you learned and how do you intend to apply it?

I have been putting off adding some me time into my weekly schedule. I keep saying I am going to do it and never do. One of the things I love to do for me time and decompress is going for walks/runs. To me it is very therapeutic and relaxing. Another is eating better and I was doing good for a little bit. Lab safety, no matter the type of lab, is critical. Going over the material on the first day and having the students sign a document that lays it all out, including the professor discussing the information, and they understand it, is a good idea. Any students who miss that day need to have a 1-1 session to go over the material and have them sign the same document. 

This section discussed how the students are evaluated. Using Bloom's Taxonomy should be utilized when assessing competency. In lab, you can break the objectives down into foundational skills, technical skills, and professional skills. There are various different ways that competency can be assessed: written exam (selected response or constructive response), oral exam, observed behavior, multi-source feedback, self-assessment, portfolios, and formative/summative assessments. However, whenever possible, a rubric should be provided to the students so that they have an understanding of what is expected of them.

When it comes to adult education, there are multiple/other factors that take place in this world of education that may not be present in secondary education. Ensuring that you understand these factors and that the students know their own learning styles helps you be able to present that material in ways that speak with the majority of the students in some way or another. How we handle or cope with stress affects not only ourselves but others around us too. However, not all stress can be eliminated or reduced. So this stage is when coping mechanisms are needed, and we need to cope in healthy ways. Examples of these healthy options are exercising, deep breathing exercises, and talking. 

Stress is a big part of life, even when we do our best to decrease or minimize it. Sometimes we are unaware of stress because we accept it or believe it isn't harmful. How we handle stress is a factor in balancing our life. The examples of stressors in personal life and work life are good and pointed out some things that maybe we did not think about. I also like how it pointed out how it affects our health short-term and long-term. A lot of times we do not realize how these affect us. 

Make a plan and follow it. This can be done by staying organized and pivoting when things occur.

Time management is critical regardless of what you are doing in life. Whether you are employed or a stay-at-home parent, managing your time is very important. A good way to manage time is to be organized. There are a variety of different ways that you can utilize to stay organized and manage your time. One way that is discussed is to create a to-do list and write them down in order of importance. Not to run away or ignore AI but to embrace it and utilize it as a tool. Be transparent, ensure accurate information, and it can be effective in 3 different ways: tell approach, team approach, and trust approach.

When it comes to policies, it is important to have people's input from those who are in the area where it gets used the most. These are the people that are going to be utilizing this in their daily activities and know how things are currently going. If they are educated about the AI system that will be used and its purpose, they can provide valuable input on how to effectively use this new system. Which then also helps them become part of the process of implementation and policy writing, so they do not feel left out of the process… >>>
