It's always best to approach students, especially those who might be struggling, through their eyes. This requires rapport and trust so they will allow you into their perspective and concerns.  From there you can offer support that is meaningful and productive.  You have to understand their experiences in order to give insight as to how that can work for them now.

From this module, I learned that autonomy is an important component of motivation because it allows students to take ownership of their learning and become more independent and confident. When students are given opportunities to make choices, express their ideas, and take responsibility for their progress, they become more engaged and motivated to succeed. I also learned that autonomy is just as important for instructors because it allows them to use their knowledge, experience, and creativity to make instructional decisions that best support their students.

From this module, I learned seven ways to enhance students’ sense of security during instruction. These include providing security when asking questions, using the Think-Pair-Share technique to avoid intimidating students when responding in front of others, allowing adequate wait time for students to think before answering, creating a safe and respectful environment during discussions and classroom activities, providing clear instructions and directions, and giving effective and constructive feedback. Another important strategy is initiating discussions about homework assignments and class projects so students feel comfortable asking questions and sharing their concerns.

From this module, I learned that motivation plays an important role in student success and that every student is motivated differently. I learned that creating a positive, supportive, and encouraging learning environment can make a big difference in helping students stay engaged and reach their goals. I intend to apply what I have learned by getting to know my students, understanding their individual needs, recognizing their efforts, and providing positive encouragement. I also want to be consistent, patient, and respectful while helping students build confidence and develop a love for learning. My goal is to help every student feel valued,… >>>

The characteristics and behaviors of my past teachers and instructors that have motivated me the most are organization, caring, empathy, consistency, knowledge, and respect. I appreciate teachers who are well-organized, passionate about what they teach, and knowledgeable in their subject area. Teachers who show genuine care, understanding, and empathy create a positive learning environment where students feel supported, valued, and encouraged. Consistency and respect alsohelp build trust and make students feelcomfortable asking questions, expressing themselves, andlearning from their mistakes. These qualities motivate me to stay engaged, work hard, and succeed.

Every student or class, at some point may need a break -whether for bad weather on the drive into class, hard economic news, information overload. Looking for signs that may indicate a break is needed, before additional material is covered, can be as important as covering the last two headlines in a PowerPoint.

I've come to find that informal conversation with students before or after class gleans great information about the student's motivation for learning.

I learned from this course segment that there are  primary and secondary needs involved with a student's success. Bothe of these play a vital role in understanding how most successfully lead a student toward meeting his or her goal.

Assignments where students have to struggle and be motivated to solve a problem, can be shown by the teacher their progress, This results in increased motivation for higher levels of achievement.

I learned student empowerment can be used to the teacher's advantage. I am not computer or phone  tech savy and I often ask my students to help me with a computer or phone problem. This does empower them to increase communication and engage with me if they have questions.
