I’ve learned that student with disabilities mostly need a little support and encouragement. That can take them a long way.

Everybody has different learning styles. You have to be cautious and find a balance between the fast and slower learners.

I learned that if you let students pick their groups they might tend to work better bouncing ideas off each other.

I plan on moving around the classroom more to command my territory of the class.

Empathy goes a long way. It's one of the strongest tools we have to connect with a student. Once we connect with that student, and they're engaged, it makes the class really stick and gets them participating. We should bring our humanity forward, and lead with that.

There was a lot of good info here that related to things I already do in my courses. We teach subjects that combined creativity and technical skills, so it's a constant balance to maintain and be aware of how each group of students is learning each month and finding ways to adapt.

Making an environment with flexibility will expose, more effectively, the spots where students need help. Encouraging the asking of questions, or just asking where people feel they need help can go a really long way. Flexibility can expose the weak points in curriculum in a way that make the addresable.

I learned that paying attention to how students respond and communicate can help us recognize when they may be struggling or need additional support. Sometimes using a different explanation can make all the difference in helping a student.

Your passion for the topic you're teaching is indeed infectious. I use this trait all the time and it works, sparks questions and the students that intend of learning and engaging get excited along with you.  This also works in when working with others in the studio, enthusiasm and total immersion in the task turns the job into a passion.

Caring is important. It's the cornerstone of learning, especially for adults. Learning and passion can be taught conveyed and effectively fostered. If it lacking, it can be repaired, and if its missing it can be found.
