Instructional Planning and Design

Providing videos to enhance your plan for students is a sure way to engage and inspire them in the classroom or even onlin.

To many videos can be a distraction. There's a delicate balancing act we have to perform. But videos do hel;p break up a lecture. If possible I like to have something that requires them to physically move every once in a while.

I use videos frequently in lecture.  The filming and observation of a process is much easier to grasp than one or two still photos.  They are an effectie tool

Videos are great for engagement, but they cannot be used without discussion of why they are relevant and breaking down the learning within them.  Otherwise, the students will see them as a prop that is disguising a lack of instructor knowledge or a substitute for real teaching.  They have to be researched and selected very carefully.
