Ambassadors and buddies

I value the ideas about ambassadors and buddies to help transition new students into the academic environment. I feel that peers that have been invloved withtraining for ahwil can really make the new students feel at home and ease them in to a new learning experience.

I too have noticed that when the more experienced student knows what to expect, to have them explain and mentor the newer students is better for the retention of the other students. We as educators may not always envision what a student is feeling, or the anxiety involved in their attempts to master material we hope they gain through our teaching.
